Therefore, we are working to strengthen our management base while making adjustments to ensure that expenditures do not become excessive.*Due to the renovation and expansion of operating rooms, the number of surgeries performed per year has increased by more than 1,000 compared to 10 years ago, contributing to an increase in the unit price of medical treatment.(billion yen)50Inpatient (yen)110,00040302010201420152016201720182019202020212022202330,00025,00020,00015,000201415Outpatient (yen)35,000(cases)9,5009,0008,5008,0007,5007,00020212223Increase motivation for children with cancer! VR game production projectAs the only pediatric cancer center hospital in the Chugoku-Shikoku region, the HU Hospital treats many children with cancer every day. Utilizing our experience in developing VR training software, we have recently embarked on a VR game production project aimed to provide mental care for children with cancer. This game will be made possible with the cooperation of the manga series titled “Cells at Work” (Kodansha Ltd.) The device will not be made for profit, and once completed, its effectiveness will be tested on child patients at the HU Hospital, after which it will be provided free of charge to pediatric cancer treatment facilities across Japan. Our goal is to bring a smile to the faces of children suffering from cancer.Learning procedures with VRThe HU Hospital is also actively promoting medical education through the use of virtual reality (VR) technology and is currently developing a VR education system for catheter treatment (angiography and endovascular treatment) using VR technology. This system aims to provide students with training equivalent to real-world medical practice, even during epidemics, while further improving educational outcomes through active learning, and currently, the effectiveness of this VR system is currently being evaluated for both medical students and junior residents.Data-based view of the hospitalThe HU Hospital’s revenue has been increasing year by year, and the main factor behind the revenue increase in recent years has been the increase in the unit price of medical treatment due to an increase in the number of highly difficult cancer chemotherapy and surgeries. We believe this is because the hospital, as the regional medical hub, has been responding to demand for advanced medical care.Although revenue is currently on the rise, much of the larger medical equipment is due for renewal, and most of the costs of 27.438.511.1
