In October of the same year, HU, the Indonesian Ministry of Health, and PT. Sumitomo Indonesia signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) regarding medical activities by HU doctors. In addition, in December 2023, we signed an agreement with Indonesia’s Hermina Hospital Group regarding cooperation in kidney transplants. From 2024 onwards, we will continue to educate doctors and introduce new equipment to improve the surgical environment for kidney transplants at Hermina’s base hospital. In Indonesia, we are working with overseas alumni network organizations (chapters) to establish a new business model originating from university hospitals and are working to build a “comprehensive medical support business model” with the aim of improving medical diagnostic techniques and developing medical personnel by dispatching doctors to engage in local medical support activities, including the provision of technology guidance and support.Hiroshima University Hospital medical team provides support at the forefront in the Noto Peninsula earthquake-stricken areasThe HU Hospital dispatched various medical teams to the areas affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred on January 1, 2024, and provided on-site support.
