This project combines the use of renewable energy with the provision of mobility and is a unique initiative that also involves student participation and the use of data through the TGO app.HU will use its official EV vehicles and electric vehicle (EV) car sharing vehicles, which have zero CO₂ emissions, as a means of convenient transportation while establishing a charging and discharging energy network that utilizes the EVs’ large-capacity batteries as storage batteries when parked. HU will also develop advanced renewable energy management, coordinating with energy resources distributed around the campus and solar power generation equipment. Furthermore, by strengthening resilience in the event of a disaster and utilizing electric vehicle (EV) car sharing, we are working to increase students’ awareness of their role in achieving carbon neutrality and to raise awareness throughout the university. In July, we launched an EV subscription service for faculty and staff. We are working to promote the switch to EVs so as to achieve full-scale adoption of EVs in the future, with the intent of achieving carbon neutrality, including during the commute to work and school.HU ranks 3rd among Japanese universities in THE’s Impact Rankings 2024In terms of the number of SDGs (7) that are ranked within the top 100 in the world, HU undisputedly ranks number one in Japan!HU is steadily working on energy management, research promotion, and human resource development with the aim of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030.
